How to make PAN card in India

To apply for a PAN (Permanent Account Number) card in India, you can do it online or offline. Here's a quick guide for both methods:

👉 First, we will see the Online Method. Its easy and convenient.  

To apply through online there are two official websites

  • NSDL: https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan
  • UTIITSL: https://www.pan.utiitsl.com

Step 1: Open https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan


Step 2: Choose Application Type 

                For individuals, select Form 49A (for Indian citizens)

                For foreign citizens, use Form 49AA.


Step 3: Fill you biometric details Like Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Valid Email and Valid Mobile Number.

Aadhaar number (for e-KYC, optional but speeds up the process)

Contact info and address


Step 4: Submit Documents

You can either:

Use e-KYC via Aadhaar (no physical documents needed), or

Upload scanned copies of:

Proof of Identity (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, etc.)

Proof of Address

Date of Birth proof


Step 5: Pay the Fee

₹93 (plus GST) for Indian communication address

₹864 (plus GST) for foreign address


You will get multiple payment option: Credit/debit card, net banking, UPI


Step 6: Submit and Track
You’ll get an acknowledgment number to track your application.

If not using e-KYC, send signed documents and photo to the NSDL/UTI address.


Step 7: Receive PAN
You’ll get an e-PAN via email within a few days.

The physical PAN card will arrive by post.

Follow above instruction carefully and put the correct information. 


👉 Second, we will see the Offline Method

  • Download and print Form 49A from the NSDL/UTI website.
  • Fill it out and attach documents and photos.
  • Submit it to the nearest PAN card center with the application fee.
  • You’ll receive the PAN in the same way as the online method.

    Use Aadhaar-based e-KYC for faster, paperless processing.

    Double-check spellings and date formats.

    Use the same name as on Aadhaar to avoid verification issues.
